NewMusicSA’s AGM will take place during the 2013 New Music Indaba in Durban next month. A key function of the meeting is to vote in a new board to run our organization.
We are looking for enthusiastic supporters of New Music to become board members. If you wish to support new music in South Africa as meaningfully as possible and have a vision for how we can grow and improve ourselves as an organization we’d like to hear from you!

South Africa celebrates twenty years of democracy in 2014 and this an appropriate time for reflection and debate on the complex new challenges that have emerged in the field of music studies since 1994.
In an exciting development for the Johannesburg Arts Alive International’s upcoming South Meets South – An Evening with the Masters performance, India’s violin icon Dr. Subramaniam and American veteran pianist Larry Willis have confirmed that they will accompany Hugh Masekela and Egberto Gismonto during the September 7th one-night-only show.
The next SoundMindLab concert is happening on Sunday 25 August at 16.00 at the Goethe-Institut in Jan Smuts Avenue, Parkwood. Perfomers: Jill Richards and Michael Watt.
Duration: about 65 minutes.
Entrance: hat at the door.
